The Spaniard looks set to do the same. Playing for the first time without the Argentine maestro, Pique opened the scoring for Barcelona. The 34-year-old also had some crucial defensive stops against Real Sociedad ultimately leading Barca to a 4-2 win.
The Blaugrana have a good blend of veterans and young talents. With a young defender like Garcia in the side, Pique will be key in the development of the former City defender. Can Pique form a partnership with Garcia and hold down Barca’s defense this season?
