FC Barcelona fans must be very happy with their club right now with the club performing well now. They recently crushed Real Madrid in the El Clasico by a score of 4-0, and the fact that it was at the Bernabeu made it sweeter.

The club’s season didn’t start like that as Barca were struggling horribly under Ronald Koeman. The Dutch manager failed to get the club’s players performing and soon they were in 9th place in the La Liga table. Koeman was quickly fired after a defeat in the El Clasico and Barcelona brought in former club legend Xavi as their manager.

The Spaniard struggled initially with the club dropping down to the Europa League after 19 years. However, the team started taking shape and performing well after the January transfer window. Players like Ousmane Dembele, Pedri, and January-arrival Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have been the club’s best players.

Joan Laporta gives an update on Ousmane Dembele’s future

However, Dembele’s contract at the club expires in just three months and the club is now inclined to lose him on a free transfer. Club president Joan Laporta talked about Dembele’s contract and revealed that they haven’t heard from the Frenchman.

At the present time, on our part, we have not heard that (Dembele) wants to stay on,” Laporta said.

Barca paid around 110 million Euros for the Frenchman’s signature, which has more or less been a massive waste of money. Dembele has struggled with injuries during the course of his entire five years in Spain and hasn’t been able to show the fans what he’s capable of.
