Young Barcelona star Pedri broke another record this season after Spain lost to Brazil in the final of the Tokyo Olympics. The Spanish midfielder has now played in 73 matches in all competitions for his club and country. The record becomes all the more impressive at his young age of 18.

The midfielder has impressed everyone with his performance across all the competitions. Barcelona only got their hands on him last season, but he has grown from strength to strength in one year. However, the record that he broke is not something he will be able to keep up on a consistent basis.

Manchester United talisman Bruno Fernandes was second on the list after playing 72 matches last season. Moreover, the Portuguese star played more games for his club, as he featured in 58 matches while Pedri featured in 52. Additionally, Fernandes has played more minutes than Pedri, who started off as a substitute at the beginning of the season.

However, he became an established star with his performances, and his first Spain cap soon followed. The young star improved so much in the end that UEFA awarded him with the Young Player of the Tournament award at the Euro 2020 finals.

According to goal.com, Pedri has played 52 matches for Barcelona in the La Liga, Copa Del Rey, Spanish Super Cup, and the Champions League in the 2020/21 season, while for Spain, he played 21 matches which include international friendlies, Euro 2020 qualification, Euro 2020 finals and the Olympics 2020.
