The World Cup in Qatar is coming closer every single day. Nations are going into overdrive to find their best elevens and England is no different. Manager Gareth Southgate has the responsibility to find his best team among a huge pool of talented players.
This is one of the best generations of footballers that England has had in a long time. However, they have still failed to win anything at all. This World Cup will be the litmus test for Southgate and his men, and he can’t afford to have a disappointing outing in Qatar.

Gareth Southgate is satisfied with the job he’s done
Fans have been critical of Southgate and his tactics as he has been known to put out quite defensive teams. They claim that it’s a waste of the huge amount of attacking talent England has on their hand with 7 stars vying for two spots on the team.
In an interview before a Nations League match, Gareth Southgate spoke to the media about the criticism that has been levied against him and revealed that he still thinks that he can do a good job. However, he did add that he won’t overstay his welcome and that there will be another England manager.
“I won’t outstay my welcome but I think I can do a good job for the team, and I think we have done a good job for the team. If you look back I have always said it. I am not going to be here forever, am I? There will be another England manager,” he said.

“I am always going to have those situations where people disagree with the selection. That noise over the last two or three years does seem extremely loud and I’ve had to ride that and get on with it through the Euros and the whole of last summer,” he added.
