FC Barcelona are in a state of crisis this season after losing their club captain and legend, Lionel Messi. However, reigniting dead hopes, fellow legend Xavi’s appointment feels like a breath of fresh air for many. Alongside him, the signing of 38-year-old Dani Alves is another effort to bring back the glory days.

Alves is arguably the greatest right-back of all time, who reached his peak form at FC Barcelona. He was a free agent after spending some time in the Brazilian league, where he did exceptionally well, despite his age. This time around, this will be Alves’ second stint at the club, but he will only start playing for Barcelona from January.

Dani Alves and his incredible story about Messi

Alves shared an amazing story about his former teammate, Lionel Messi, doing incredible things in training.

I remember during one training session, Messi was doing things with the ball at his feet that defied logic. Of course, that is what he did every day. Only this time, something was different. He’s running past me, I look down at his boots and I’m thinking to myself, ‘Is this a joke?’ His damn boots are untied. Both of them. I mean completely untied,” Alves revealed.

The FC Barcelona squad during Alves’ time at the club was one of the best in the world, notably, with brilliant defenders as well. However, none stood a chance when Messi had the ball at his feet, even in training.

This guy is playing against the best defenders in the world and he’s acting like it’s a Sunday in the park,” Alves concluded.
