Kylian Mbappe is undoubtedly one of the fastest footballers in the world right now. The Frenchman has blistering speed and recently broke the speed guns when he clocked in a top speed of 23.6 mph (38 km per hour).

While this might not seem like much on its own, this speed was more than Bolt’s average speed during his 100m world record in 2009. This turned a lot of heads, and soon people began wondering if Mbappe could actually beat Bolt in a running race.

However, the answer has to be a bland no. Mbappe’s top speed of 23.6 mph is not sustainable during the course of 100 metres. If Mbappe did run the entire 100 metres at the same rate, he’ll break the current world record of 9.58 seconds (held by Bolt) and finish the distance in 9.49 seconds.

With that in mind, people should understand precisely how hard it is to maintain their top speed for anyone in the world. Bolt had tried to reach his top speed before and absolutely blew everyone’s minds when it came out to be 27.8 mph (44.74 kilometres per hour).

Usain Bolt and his attempt to play professional football:

Nevertheless, even if Bolt can beat Mbappe in a sprinting race, Mbappe will still be faster than him with the ball at his feet. Usain Bolt did try his hand out at football, but it did not go as well as it could have.

Bolt tried to fulfil his dream of becoming a football player in 2017. He retired from sprinting and moved to Australia to train with Central Coast Mariners, a football team in the Australian league.

However, the move did not work out, and Usain retired from football as well. He did score two goals in his only appearance for the club.
