The tides have turned at Tottenham Hotspur with the appointment of the new manager, Antonio Conte. Moreover, this move could be important for the club to keep their coveted striker, Harry Kane.

But given that Kane was recently set for a move to Manchester City, in a deal that never materialized, how long can the team keep him off others’ radars?

Harry Kane opens up on his transfer saga

With the striker bidding goodbye to the fans last season, everyone expected him to don the blue and white of Manchester City. But, the saga went to a length where the move did not materialize while many people roundly criticized his brother for the breakdown in talks. Kane talked about the issues he faced but looked happy with his conduct and how he handled the situation.

“That is the first time it has really happened to me. But that is part and parcel of being a big player, and I think I coped with it well,” said Kane.

Although he has only scored one goal in 10 appearances for Spurs this season, his record for England remains solid. He scored three goals in four games, with England on the verge of qualifying for the World Cup in Qatar now. Four points out of two games against Albania and San Marino would guarantee automatic qualification for the World Cup. However, the striker remains focused on the job in front of him.

“We expect a really tough game. Albania still has the chance to qualify for the World Cup and we know they’ll bring a lot of energy and passion to the game so we need to make sure we match that,” said Kane.

Thus, with a new regime in North London, Kane would hope to win trophies. Conte is a serial winner and would train the team to his demands. With many talented players in the squad, Kane looks set to stay in Spurs. But if the team fails to win a trophy yet again, how long do you think he will stay at Tottenham?
