Chelsea was supposed to be title contenders this season in the Premier League after winning the UEFA Champions League last season. However, things have turned topsy-turvy as several players like Romelu Lukaku and even Christian Pulisic don’t seem too happy to be at the club.

They are sitting in third place in the Premier League table this season, a full 10 points behind league leaders, Manchester City. Meanwhile, their big-money signing Lukaku had publicly announced that he wasn’t happy at the club and wanted to go back to Inter Milan. Can Christian Pulisic be the next star to do so?

Christian Pulisic reveals why it has been tough playing for Chelsea

Pulisic hasn’t played a lot of games for Chelsea and has faced a lot of injury issues. He has only played 12 matches for the club this season and has routinely featured as a substitute. Moreover, Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel, has played him at wing-back instead of a forward position.

90 min football uploaded a post on Instagram with a quote from Pulisic, explaining why he has struggled at Chelsea this season. “It is tough. I haven’t always been playing in positions I want to play in,” Pulisic revealed.

He had a good first season for the club, where he scored nine goals and got four assists. However, his output has since dropped and he has only managed to score three goals this season so far. It’ll be interesting to see if Tuchel is going to utilize him at wing-back this season and whether Pulisic can pick up his form again.

Thomas Tuchel has a tough job at his hands to steer the club back to winning ways. If players like Pulisic and Lukaku are not performing, it’s going to be much harder for him to replicate last season’s success.
