USMNT captain Christian Pulisic has had a rough time at Chelsea. After getting his big-money move in 2019 from Borussia Dortmund, big things were expected from the American youngster. However, after three seasons and some injury issues, it looks like signing him was a mistake for Chelsea.

Still, Pulisic is only 23 and does have a lot of room to grow as a player. The forward has been exceptional every single time he has played for his nation. Regardless, Chelsea might look to cut their losses this season.

The club lost both Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger this summer and is looking to sign defenders, and Pulisic is a valuable asset to have.

Chelsea is set to make a move for Matthijs de Ligt

One of Chelsea’s transfer targets is Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt. The Dutch center-back is still only 22 and has already established himself as one of the best defenders in Serie A, showing great leadership skills and defensive IQ.

Juventus are also reportedly interested in a move for Christian Pulisic, which could work greatly in the favor of Chelsea. According to a report from The Daily Telegraph, Chelsea plans to use either Pulisic or Timo Werner in a swap to deal to sign de Ligt and reinforce their defense.

They will add some more money along with the players and have already made plans to sign a replacement if either of the attackers departs.
