Paris Saint Germain was supposed to become a club that would win the UEFA Champions League multiple times. They built several great teams over the years that were supposedly the favorites for the biggest competition in world football with the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Neymar Jr.
They even came close two years ago when they reached the final of the UCL. However, the French club lost to Bayern Munich after giving a tough fight. Next season, they were out in the semi-final stage after losing to Manchester City, but this season was supposed to be different.
They signed players like Lionel Messi, Sergio Ramos, and Gianluigi Donnarumma to build one of the greatest teams of all time on paper. However, this season too, the club was knocked out of the competition by a European heavyweight in Real Madrid.

The mass exodus at Paris Saint Germain
The club’s early exit from the competition has angered its fans around the world as the club’s hierarchy keeps failing to win the UCL. Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr were booed by the fans in their league game against Bordeaux today. Moreover, PSG ultras are extremely unhappy with club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.
In an open letter, the ultras questioned PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino’s leadership and his game plan. They were also critical of Al-Khelaifi’s transfer strategy of surrounding the club with stars who don’t complement each other. In the end, they called for a reorganization of the club at all levels.
They might just get that as according to a report from Romain Molina, Al-Khelaifi, and the club’s sporting director, Leonardo Araujo is leaving the club, and they aren’t the only ones. Pochettino will follow them out of the club and so will club star Kylian Mbappe.
