The US-based sports and entertainment group, ‘Dude Perfect’ became the latest big names to announce that they’ll be investing in Premier League side Burnley. The hugely popular YouTubers are the latest American celebrities to join the Clarets, following in the footsteps of NFL star JJ Watt and his wife, former USWNT player Kealia Ohai.

The self-described “sports and comedy group” which includes Garrett Hilbert, Tyler Toney, Cody Jones, Coby Cotton, and Cory Cotton, boasts around 60 million subscribers and over 19 billion views on YouTube. They plan to formalize their involvement in the club’s ownership group and hopefully help introduce the club to a wider and new audience.

Dude Perfect aims to grow the club

In a video released by ‘Dude Perfect‘ on their various social media channels, the group announced with sheer happiness that they have agreed to become a minority investor in the club. This development comes just days after Burnley announced that the popular YouTubers would be bringing their unique brand to the world of football as the sponsors of the club’s youth and academy teams for the upcoming season.

The famous YouTube group, who will be in attendance on Friday for Burnley’s season opener against Manchester City, said that one of their main objectives is to provide the club with exposure to a new & wider audience.

“We’ve been fans of the Premier League for some time, so we’re excited to formalize the relationship with Burnley and hopefully help to introduce a bunch of younger fans to the club,” Hilbert said.

“What Vincent and the guys achieved last year was incredible and it’s a really exciting time to be a Burnley fan. We also spoke to JJ multiple times and his passion and ideas for how we can help grow the club and create Burnley fans for life excited us. We’re planning to be in town for the Manchester City game this month and we can’t wait to meet everyone,” Hilbert added.

Another exciting step in the journey, according to the Chairman of Burnley FC

Burnley is currently owned by Velocity Sports Partners (VSP), a sports investment firm that is part of the US management company ALK Capital. They got a majority stake in the Turf Moor side in 2020 for approx. $250 million, with several minority investors owning the rest of the club, which includes JJ Watt & Dude Perfect.

In an official statement released on the club’s website, Burnley FC Chairman Alan Pace said, “We’re delighted to formally welcome Dude Perfect into the Clarets family and this is another exciting step on our journey as we prepare for the 2023/24 season.”

Hilbert and Co. have not yet arrived in Burnley, but they are scheduled to do so for their season opener on August 11 against Manchester City. With Vincent Kompany training and preparing his players on the pitch for their return to the top tier, he’ll be looking forward to replicating Sean Dyche’s performance and helping the Clarets retain their status in the Premier League.
