Days After Going on Hunger Strike, Jailed Barcelona Legend Dani Alves Involved in Cigarette Smuggling Scheme in Prison

Dani Alves is not living his life to its fullest. The Brazilian is currently spending his days in Barcelona’s Brians 2 Prison after being found guilty of sexual assault. The 39-year-old was arrested on January 20th after he allegedly attacked a 23-year-old woman.

Since then he is living his days in prison. Following his act, the player’s wife, Joana Sanz, has also left Alves, thus ending their six-year marriage. Even inside the jail, the player has caught the attention of reports. The former Barcelona star is in the headlines, with yet another incident coming to light.

Dani Alves involved in another misdeed

It has been almost two months since Alves has been inside the prison. Since then, the latter has constantly been involved in many incidents. One of them recently came to light that the 39-year-old is reportedly involved in a prison cigarette purchase scheme.

The player has reportedly started a business with his inmate, who is benefiting from the scheme. One prisoner is free to move into jail. The prisoner is collecting shirts from other inmates, either via conjugal visits or packages.

He then takes them to Alves, who signs the shirts, and the individual then returns them to their owners, who distribute them to family members and friends. In return, they receive several rewards, including cigarettes.

The officials inside the prison have been noticing the circulation of the jerseys and have reportedly held the Brazilian international for such a misdeed. They will be taking a decision for the felony very soon.

Alves keen to prove his innocence

With the player constantly being involved in such wrongdoing, Alves is keen to prove his innocence. The defender recently penned a farewell message to her estranged partner. In the letter, he vowed to fight until the end to prove his innocence. He even went on a hunger strike after hearing Joana’s decision.

Besides this, he also expressed his regret and insisted that he accept Joana’s decision. The letter was presented by the Antena 3 lunchtime show ‘Y ahora Sonsoles.’ They are saying the letter is a farewell message to their partner. In the meantime, Joana has also posted several cryptic letters on her social media.
