Soccer or Football, which one’s better? This is a generational debate that has gone on for the longest time. However, with no clear reasoning in mind, people tend to voice their opinion freely. But that causes problems. The reason is that wherever each of us is born, a particular sport is given more preference there.
Many such people do not prefer soccer. One of them is ex-NFL hostess Rebecca Grant. Grant is also an American actress who has made a handful of appearances in movies like Beverly Hills Christmas, Sink Hole, etc.

What did the ex-NFL host Rebecca Grant tweet?
Recently, Grant re-tweeted a post by TRT World. The tweet basically said the Moroccan fans were disappointed after their loss against France. But, the fans were still proud of their team as Morocco became the first African nation to reach the semifinals of the FIFA World Cup.
Once #America lost, I lost total interest in #WorldCup. Wait a second, when I heard the #football game was #soccer, that’s when I really lost total interest. I’d rather be watching #prowrestling legend @swinger_johnny win his 50 matches. https://t.co/wlcNu1gE49

That tweet, for some reason, triggered something in Grant. Grant retweeted the tweet with a weird reply. She tweeted, “Once #America lost, I lost total interest in #WorldCup. Wait a second, when I heard the #football game was #soccer, that’s when I really lost total interest. I’d rather be watching #prowrestling legend @swinger_johnny win his 50 matches”.
That’s totally fine. But what does that have to do with the Moroccan fans? Soccer in most other Parts of the world is more important than football is to Americans

A few hours later, she got a comment on that tweet asking her if this was sarcasm. She tweeted, “We love American football, college sports like football and basketball, pro wrestling and hockey and pro baseball. Some also like NASCAR. There is no time for any imported sports like soccer”.
Soccer is not that bad, is it?
It’s now public that the ex-NFL host does not like soccer. She tried saying it in a nice way on Twitter, but it didn’t seem to deliver the way she’d liked. Her statement about her losing interest when she realized that the rest of the world calls the sport ‘football’, could be interpreted in a lot of different ways.
The comment that she replies to, makes it even worse. Grant tried to speak on behalf of a group of people that don’t like soccer. Grant currently has 188.8k followers on Twitter. With such a level of influence, maybe dissing a sport that she does not like publicly was not the right choice.
