Ryan Reynolds has successfully completed the first stage of “Mission Wrexham’. The actor recently led his club to a historic promotion to the fourth division. Ever since his arrival, the club has become a central focus in the soccer world. This success has enticed the Canadian star to get hold of another sports franchise, namely the Ottawa Senators.
The Welsh club owner is eager to expand his venture empire and looks at the NHL side as the perfect investment. They have not left the world in the dark about his interest in the hockey team that has been up for sale for quite some time. The price was set at around $800 million; however, the bid has already crossed the billion mark. In fact, according to the NHL commissioner’s latest admission, its value is set to increase even more.

Almost a dozen entrepreneurs took part in the bidding process, with only a few solid contenders remaining. This has resulted in Reynolds receiving sharp competition from other interested parties. A recent report already stated that the bid has crossed the billion-dollar mark.
In fact, NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman believes the prices of the franchises are set to increase even more. Last week, in the recent installment of the Bob McCown Podcast, Bettman said, “I actually think our franchises are going to become increasingly more valuable than they are now.” He also said that the teams had been undervalued up until now.

He also had some good news for the Senators fans. “It should tell all the fans in Ottawa that this franchise is gonna have a very bright future right there in Ottawa … the nation’s capital is generating a tremendous amount of interest for a prospective NHL owner.”
It’s quite an interesting admission made by Bettman, either way, fans are yet to see who gets their hands on the team. While Reynolds seems focused, the actor is definitely facing stiff competition from other renowned names.
