The Senators’ price was set at around $800 million. However, that mark has crossed its limits, as recent reports suggest that the successful bid will cross the $1 billion mark. Dozens of teams were interested in buying the team, but the battle now remains between six groups. Among the contenders is the Remington Group, which includes the Canadian actor as well.
Aside from this, former WWE star Dwayne Johnson also joined the race. All the interested parties have been given a deadline of May 15, in order to strengthen their proposals. The battle to win the bid has intensified, and it seems the bid may set a record. In fact, this might be the highest bid ever in the history of the NHL.

Either way, all the potential bidders must submit their best offers. But it seems the main fight is between Hollywood giants Reynolds and Johnson. Both are eager to buy the NHL side.
