Legendary Jamaican athlete Usain Bolt was in attendance at Old Trafford on Sunday. The GOAT of sprinting came to watch a game between Manchester United and Fulham in the quarter-final of the FA Cup. Bolt, a United fan, posted a short video clip on social media where he predicted the game’s scoreline before the start.

United welcomed Fulham in the world’s oldest soccer competition on Sunday for a place in the semifinal. They shrugged off a tough fight from the Londoners, who opened the scoring. But, three red cards in the span of a few seconds saw Fulham losing their cool, and Red Devils emerged victorious with a scoreline of 3-1, proving the Jamaican sprinter right.

Usain Bolt correctly predicted the outcome of the Manchester United game

The eight-time Olympic gold winner was asked to predict the score before the game. Bolt replied, “I think it’s gonna finish 3-1.” After the game ended in a 3-1 result in favor of the Red Devils, Bolt posted the video on his Twitter handle with a caption of, “Told You,” tagging Manchester United with a winking emoji.

The 100m and 200m world record holder was spot on with his prediction by channelizing his inner famous Paul octopus. United received a setback when Aleksandar Mitrovic gave Fulham the lead in the 50th minute. They were on the back foot until some chaos, resulting in three red cards for the Fulham side in the space of a few seconds.

It was in the 70th minute when United’s counter-attack was blocked off the line by Willian, which started a series of red cards. VAR intervened and deemed Willian handling the ball and asked the on-field referee to have a look.

Moreover, the referee sent off Fulham boss Marco Silva during the penalty check and soon sent off Willian for handling the ball. The referee awarded a penalty to United after sending off striker Mitrovic for his descent.

Bruno Fernandes made sure Bolt’s prediction was true

Fernandes stepped up and scored from the spot, drawing United level with Fulham. It was It took only two minutes for United to take a lead against nine-men Fulham as Marcel Sabitzer scored his first United goal in the 77th minute. United controlled the game after taking the lead.

It was deep in the added time of the second half, Fernandes made sure Bolt’s prediction was true. The Portuguese blasted the ball in the top corner to make it 3-1 in the sixth minute of added time. With this, United became the team with the most semifinal berths (31) in FA Cup history. They will next face Brighton in the semifinal next month.
