It’s no secret that Manchester City is currently down in the dumps since their UEFA Champions League disappointment. The Cityzens’ dream of lifting yet another treble was shattered by Real Madrid, who eliminated them in the quarter-finals. While Pep Guardiola and Co. are still in the process of healing, Usain Bolt sprinkled salt on City’s wound, vocally asserting that the arch-rivals should not win the treble again.

The candid declaration was made during tonight’s Laureus World Sports Awards ceremony. Notably, the legendary sprinter bumped into Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham on the red carpet, where both were witnessed having a brief conversation. Interestingly, after striking some ‘iconic‘ poses in front of the camera alongside the midfielder, when asked about his interaction with the Real Madrid star, the Jamaican responded, “I just told him ‘Great job in the Champions League’ because we can’t have a [City] treble again,” via ESPN.

It appears Bolt was pleased with Real Madrid’s success in preventing Manchester City from securing another treble. However, Erling Haaland and Co. are now only left with the Premier League and the FA Cup final to contest. Notably, the Jamaican’s satisfaction with City’s early exit from the European stage is also attributed to his fondness for derby rivals Manchester United.

Bolt has frequently expressed his admiration for the Red Devils in the past, even harboring a desire to play for them professionally during his soccer career pursuit days. Nevertheless, it’s a bold claim from the former Olympian. Remarkably, Bolt also has a strong fandom for Los Blancos, evident from his recent enthusiastic celebrations of Carlo Ancelotti and Co’s achievement.

Real Madrid knocking out Manchester City made Usain Bolt to chant ‘Hala Madrid!’

Usain Bolt enthusiastically celebrated Real Madrid’s advancement to the semi-finals. The renowned sprinter shared a story on Instagram, showcasing his jubilation over the Spanish side’s impressive victory. Bolt posted a short video clip of Antonio Rudiger’s match-winning penalty and could be heard shouting ‘Hala Madrid’. Interestingly, he watched the match alongside former Jamaican soccer star Ricardo “Bibi” Gardner, who also showed support for the La Liga giants.

However, among the disappointed were some of Bolt’s friends, who were lamenting Manchester City’s defeat. The clip depicted Gardner and the former Olympian teasing Bolt’s girlfriend, Kasi Bennett, who, unlike her partner, was rooting for the Premier League side, by chanting ‘Hala Madrid.’ Notably, Cristiano Ronaldo is one of Bolt’s inspirations for supporting Real Madrid.

Nonetheless, it looks like he intends to continue supporting them as he remains thankful to them for eliminating Manchester City.
