Wrexham owner and Hollywood superstar Ryan Reynolds is living his dream to the fullest. Besides being an actor, the 46-year-old is doing wonders as an entrepreneur, thanks to his earlier investment in a soccer club.

The latter, along with his co-owner and best friend, Rob McElhenney, took over the club back in 2021. Since then, they have made quite a name for themselves, as they are already close to winning their first trophy as owners. Both have taken the Welsh club to a whole new level.

However, Wrexham wasn’t his first investment, as Ryan’s entrepreneurial roots go way back. The actor was the owner of an American gin brand, which he sold for quite a profit before putting the money into Wrexham.

And of course, Wrexham definitely isn’t going to be his last investment, as it seems he is interested in expanding his empire even more by buying NHL side Ottawa Senators.

Recently, Ryan got a tremendous financial boost through an investment he had made years ago. He sold his phone company for a massive $1.3 billion to German giant T-Mobile. The deal gives Ryan a major boost of $337.5 million pre-tax, which has doubled his net worth. But to buy the NHL side, Ryan had to break the bank, as the highest bid was $900 million. But luckily, T-Mobile came and saved the day, thus backing him with a bag of cash.

However, reports suggest that Ryan might have to buckle up for the buyout process. NHL insider, Elliotte Friedman has revealed that the Senators’ sale process is set for the next stage. “The NHL announced this week that they are going into the next phase of the Ottawa Senators sale,” said Friedman on Saturday night.

It is being said that the Ottawa Senators have received a huge bid of $925 million from an unknown bidder.  “There were reports that there is at least 1 bid, if not more, above $900 million dollars. There are people who believe the top bid probably came in around $925 million.” Many suggest that it is Ryan Reynolds himself, anyhow nothing has been confirmed regarding the real bidder.

If the bid is not from Ryan, then it seems he’s got himself a competitor, as the actor is quite desperate for the NHL side. Either way, nothing official has been said by either party regarding the bid.

Thanks to his 25% stake in Mint Mobile, Ryan has doubled his net worth. He may not have received the full $1 billion, but he is expected to get a nine-figure payday. This indeed gives him a major boost in his attempts to buy the club. If the latest bid isn’t from Ryan, then he must break the bank to get his desired team.

However, if by chance the actor fails to tailor the takeover, the money still gives plenty of sway to his current side, Wrexham. The money injection is a brilliant opportunity for both parties to invest heavily and fight for glory. Either way, the control of the money still remains in Ryan’s hands. It’s up to him what he’ll do with it, as the next few days are very crucial for everyone.
