Cristiano Ronaldo is a connoisseur of soccer. The Portuguese star is considered one of the greatest footballers of all time and has enjoyed an illustrious career so far. It was as if the player was born to play soccer, as he has outclassed everyone in this sport.

While he has cemented his name in the soccer world, the striker’s interest in sports extends beyond soccer. The 38-year-old has often been seen playing other sports with renowned stars. And just like that, the Al Nassr man recently kept his soccer boots aside and was spotted playing a new sport.

Recently, Ronaldo flew to Singapore to show his support for two youth scholarships that were funded by his long-time friend and philanthropist, Peter Lim. The veteran went to promote the #BeSIUPER campaign in the Asian country. There, the CR7 visited Victoria Junior College, where the students and the volunteer caught him trying his luck in Padel.

This time, rather than letting his foot do the magic with a soccer ball, Ronaldo entertained his fans with a racquet in his hands. The former Madrid man took part in a friendly paddle game against a 17-year-old teenager, as stated by The Straits Times. Thousands of students were lucky enough to see CR7 live in action playing another sport.

Murray says many ex-tennis stars have opted for this sport. “It’s one of the fastest growing sports in the world … I think it’s going to keep getting bigger and bigger. I think clubs will continue to want to build courts and there’ll be more demand for it.” His words are true, as the numbers definitely suggest a rise in the sport.

A report suggests more than 15,000 new padel courts were registered in Europe. Actively, the sport has 25 million players in over 90 countries. Moreover, Spain leads in the sport’s popularity, as it has more than six million active players and more than 20,000 courts. It has become the second most popular sport behind soccer.
