What a start it was for Lionel Messi as an Inter Miami CF player. His much-anticipated debut was the talk of the town. However, Tata Martino named him on the bench. The seven-time Ballon d’Or came on in the 54th minute, leaving his mark on the game in some style.

His final-minute heroics not only stunned the crowd but also the likes of David Beckham and Serena Williams attending the game. And Wrexham co-owner Ryan Reynolds has reacted to the teary-eyed celebrations over Instagram.

Inter Miami played Cruz Azul in the Group J of the Leagues Cup on July 21. However, this game garnered the attention of the soccer fraternity, with the hype surrounding Messi’s debut. A host of celebs were in attendance for the game. Tennis legend Serena Williams, who is pregnant, attended with her husband and daughter alongside Kim Kardashian. Inter Miami co-owner Beckham was also in attendance with his wife, Victoria Beckham.

Lionel Messi stepped onto the pitch in the 54th minute, with the game nicely poised in favor of the Herons. However, the Liga MX side equaled in the 65th minute. It seemed the game was heading to a stalemate. But that wasn’t meant to be. In the 4th minute of the injury time, the former PSG superstar stepped up for the free kick. And Messi did what he does best. 

He deposited the free-kick into the top right corner of the goal, giving Miami a win. The crowd erupted in joy, and so did Williams and Beckham. The Beckham coupled hugged each other with tears of joy. Ryan Reynolds was quick to share the post on his Instagram story. The Deadpool star put a mind-blown emoji tagging Beckham. It was not only his reaction but all of those who watched the 94th-minute masterclass of Messi.

One of the attractions for Lionel Messi’s debut game was Kim Kardashian. The American model is known for her unwanted curse in soccer. Recently, the teams she supported lost some crucial games and momentum. In March, she visited London to cheer for Arsenal in the Europa League round 16. The Gunners lost on the penalties.

Three days later, Kardashian was in Paris, supporting PSG. And to the fans’ disbelief, the Parisians lost the French League game. Her presence at DRV PNK Stadium raised some concerns. Fans also brutally trolled the American influencer. But the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner was unfazed and smashed home an incredible winner. It sparked reactions from fans that the Kardashian Curse doesn’t work on GOATs.
