In order to build more excitement among American fans, they built a statue of Alex Morgan on the busy streets of New York. The statue is specifically made on Sixth Avenue between 47th and 48th streets. The statue has Morgan standing with the USA’s flag draping her body. She is also holding a ball near her waist and the FIFA World Cup trophy high in the sky.

One netizen shared the picture on Twitter. Luckily, it caught the eye of Williams’ husband, Alexis Ohanian, who retweeted the picture while hailing the USWNT star. He wrote, “A statue worthy of @alexmorgan13.” The Reddit owner seems quite happy to see Morgan’s statue, as he praised highly.

Earlier, the 825 pounds weighing statue was unveiled at the Dignity Health Sports Park in California to honor the USWNT soccer legend. However, now a similar statue has been placed in the streets of New York.

Nevertheless, Ohanian’s reactions show he is also ready to support Morgan and Co. for the upcoming World Cup. The ladies will have a chance to clinch a historic three-peat this year. Be that as it may, it was a heartwarming response from Ohanian. Speaking of statues, her wife, Williams, also got herself a statue a few years ago.

Back in 2009, former tennis star Serena Williams also got a wax statue of her own. The 23-time Grand Slam winner attended her statue unveiling at the famous wax museum, Madame Tussauds, in New York. Notably, the museum is famous for having wax sculptures of renowned and historical figures around the world.
