Announcing the roster for a world cup is always a tough one for the coach. There is a big pool of players to pick and only 26 players can make it to the final roster. Coach Gregg Berhalter admitted that it was tough talking to the players missing out on the roster.
“Then I started working on the guys that weren’t going to be on the team, and those were when the real difficult conversations started,” Berhalter said after announcing the USMNT roster.
The 26-man roster’s average age is 25 years, 175 days. This is a very young bunch of players selected by Berhalter, who is planning for the future.

total embarrassment. Trying to legitimize a non top 15 league in @MLS instead of putting the best players in the squad.

Christian Pulisic will lead the team’s attack against Wales on 21 November, a week after their first training in Qatar. While the team has many experienced players, just one player with previous WC experience has been selected by Berhalter; DeAndre Yedlin.
