The USWNT continue to hear criticism continue to hear criticism for their poor World Cup campaign. Subsequently, Colin Cowherd also made hay while the sun shone. In his latest segment of ‘Herd w/Colin Cowherd,’ the commentator reacted to the USA’s woeful tale against Sweden. “It wasn’t their day, and it wasn’t their tournament. First of all, nobody has ever won back-to-back-to-back World Cups,” he said.

Cowherd highlighted that the likes of Pele, Maradona, Ronaldo, Messi never won consecutive World Cups. While insisting that having a young team with a new coach isn’t “exactly a recipe for World Cup dominance,” he expressed his doubts over Vlatko being the right man for the job.

“Re-building dynasties is hard. We saw at the Warriors last year. Old guys, same culture, new guys not ready and they got boxed by the team in the play-offs that eventually didn’t even win. That didn’t even play the Champs. It’s hard. The Patriots post-Tom Brady. It’s hard, Spurs without Duncan. Difficult. Older players, older cultures, trying to bridge the gap. Sometimes you fire a coach, you move on to a new coach,” he added.

Nevertheless, comparing Patriots post-Tom Brady era with USWNT is certainly interesting, as the NFL side also struggled in a similar manner. Meanwhile, you would be surprised to learn about Donald Trump’s comments about Megan Rapinoe.
