Jesse Marsch became the coach of Leeds United in February 2022. He also became the third American coach to manage a team in the Premier League. And helped the team to avoid relegation, which was a big achievement given Leeds has failed to do so since 2011. And now, one of the team’s young stars is throwing his support behind Marsch.

Jesse Marsch backed for success

In an interview, goalkeeper Illan Meslier spoke highly of his coach“With Jesse, it is important with communication. If you have something you can say it and you say ”maybe better like this or like this,” the French goalkeeper said while praising the American coach.

He further added, ” and all the time now I play forward and find like a quarterback good passes behind or in the feet, the Redzone.” The praises didn’t just stop there. “He gives me a lot of responsibility, I have to manage the deep behind my defense. I like it a lot. Jesse is very nice, very nice,” Illan Meslier said.

These are obviously great words of support from Meslier. And seeing your young goalkeeper back up his coach like this just goes on to highlight the work Marsch is putting into the team behind the pitch.

San Francisco 49ers owner’s potential takeover

As an investment group, 49ers Enterprises already owns the NFL team San Francisco 49ers. Now, the consortium is looking to fully take over English soccer club Leeds United. In 2018, the 49ers bought a 15 percent stake in the Premier League club; that stake has since increased to 44 percent.

The 49ers have the option to fully take over the $800 million club. The enterprises have the funds to make it happen and are exploring their options by seeing how Jesse Marsch and the team can perform in the Premier League. Avoiding relegation will be the deciding point for this decision to go forward.
