She also mentioned that Jennifer Lopez also represents the Latino community, but she was born and raised in the US. The Colombian star referred to herself as a representative of the other Latinos. She explained, “I’m so honored to be taking on one of the world’s biggest stages in the company of a fellow female artist to represent Latinos and Latinas from the U.S. and all over the world and to top it off, on my birthday!”

Shakira also then mentioned that this opportunity would help the Colombian star live the ‘American dream’ along with her fans. A few hours before her performance, the Latin American singer posted a heartwarming message for her on social media.
