She explained, “I’m so honored to be taking on one of the world’s biggest stages in the company of a fellow female artist to represent Latinos and Latinas from the U.S. and all over the world and to top it off, on my birthday!”

Shakira also then mentioned that this opportunity would help the Colombian star live the ‘American dream’ along with her fans. She quoted, “This is a true American dream and we are going to bring the show of a lifetime!”. The NFL brought the Latin American duo on board to feature in a power-packed six-minute segment together.

A few hours before her performance, the Latin American singer posted a heartwarming message for her on social media. Shakira posted an old picture of them and wrote, “Remembering good times and wishing you the best vibes for tonight’s show, Rih!”

The fans were delighted and couldn’t stop talking about the iconic gesture. However, the tides turned after Rihanna’s performance. The Barbarian singer received serious criticism from the fans. The majority of the fans criticized her and called it a ‘low effort’ performance.
