But before the anticipated match, what has grabbed the eyeballs of many is a bromance moment between Lionel Messi and Patrick Mahomes, sending fans into a frenzy. 

Both were seen greeting each other in a small clip shared by Inter Miami on X. The first part of the clip shows the Kansas City quarterback standing outside the passage where all the Miami players were heading back into their locker rooms after a little stretching at Arrowhead Stadium. As soon as they encountered each other, Mahomes and Messi shook hands and greeted each other with a big hug. Interestingly, that wasn’t the end of their link-up, as while hugging La Pulga, the NFL star said, “What’s up man? Good luck man, Have fun out there.”

Messi, on the other hand, had something in reply, which cannot be heard in the video. But it was something similar to what Mahomes said to the Miami skipper, leading the Chiefs star to respond with, “Yeah, for sure.” The rest of the clip showcases Mahomes greeting other players on the pitch and even clicking pictures with them. Indeed, it was quite a gesture from Mahomes to welcome the whole team ahead of the crucial match.

Despite donning the Sporting KC jersey and rooting for his side, the NFL star fervently wished the best to his opponents. But it’s the unexpected  moment between Mahomes and Messi that fans are in awe of, setting the internet on fire.
