Have you ever thought that not saying Good Morning can be heavy on someone’s pocket? If not, get ready to be blown by the English soccer club’s new code of conduct for its players. It comes days after $300 million worth of Tom Brady announced his investment in Birmingham City FC. The second-division club has released guidelines for players’ conduct. 

And if they fail to abide, players will have to loosen their pockets. The club has proposed a minimum fine of $25, which could escalate to $3800. It is a fascinating update that will make the players think twice before stepping outside the line. Apart from training, the players will now have to work on saying Good Morning, as not doing so will cost them $300.

A week after Brady’s announcement, a fine list of Birmingham City leaked over social media. Birmingham released the players’ code of conduct list and divided it into seven categories. The first part is ‘punctuality,’ which states if the player is late for any session or doesn’t say ‘good morning’ at the reception desk will have to pay $300.

The club has asked the players to wear club attire while traveling on the team coach, in team meetings, and in the dining rooms at the hotel. Birmingham will charge them from $25 to $250 if players do not follow guidelines. Moreover, players are liable to pay $127 for not wearing GPS and heart rate monitors or not completing the morning wellness session before 10 am.

Indiscipline in the canteen and changing rooms will cost players $25 to $64. The club will impose a $127 fine on players who take selfies or carry hot drinks to the treatment room. The list does not end here. Birmingham City has placed strict rules for the matchdays as well.

The club bans the mobiles in the changing rooms from 90 minutes before the kickoff, except for music. Failing to do so, the player has to pay $317. A $127 fine awaits the player if he uses a mobile at mealtime during the first 30 minutes of sitting down. Even reporting late for meetings or matchdays will significantly affect the players’ wallets. The club will charge a fine of $635 for coming late to team meetings and a whopping $3800 for reporting late on the home matchdays.

What has caught the attention is the timings of releasing the code of conduct and fine list. As explained by Birmingham City owner Tom Brady will play a significant role in the club. He is heading the new advisory board and will be responsible for players performances. It seems the club is striving to bring in discipline, which helped their new co-owner reach enormous heights in American Football.
