From Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs increasing ticket prices after high demand to Gen Z girls being eager to watch the Super Bowl, the 14x Grammy winner has turned out to be the biggest sports league’s best advertisement. For the same reason, USWNT veteran Megan Rapinoe believes Swift’s impact on the NFL is a case of women helping men’s sports scale new peaks.

When it comes to speaking up for women in sports, there is no champion as outrageous as Megan Rapinoe. She has even taken heat for demanding equal pay for women athletes. But the 2x World Champion has no plans to stop. Now, she demands the NFL should give a cut of their business to Taylor Swift.

Women’s contributions to men’s sports became the talking point in the ‘A Touch More’ Show featuring Megan Rapinoe and her fiance, Sue Bird. Speaking on the matter, Rapinoe quickly explored the Taylor Swift-NFL example. “Women are saving men’s sports. And there are so many different examples of this. Let me just ring them down. Taylor Swift and the NFL. It is the single largest free marketing situation in the history of everything,” said Rapinoe. “I just am like when are they giving her 25% of the business,” she added.

Thereafter, Rapinoe lauded Swift for attracting all the eyeballs, despite the likes of a serial Super Bowl winner like Patrick Mahomes gearing up for the Chiefs. ” I don’t know how much of this is purposeful on her part, But you’ve beat them at their own game, in their own stadium by their own rules,” the ex-USWNT striker added. According to Apex Marketing, Taylor Swift has helped the Chiefs and NFL generate an additional $331.5 million in brand value. As per data compiled by Stub Hub, the Kansas City Chiefs have witnessed a three-fold increase in ticket sales ever since Swift started to show up for their games. Besides, the KC-based side also registered most single-day ticket sales within 24 hours of the 14x Grammy winner’s first appearance for a Chiefs game.

Meanwhile, as per a recent survey, 16% of consumers in the US said Taylor Swift has piqued their interest in the Chiefs-49ers Super Bowl tie. Furthermore,  24% Gen-Zers and 20% of Millennials said they’re more interested in football this year because of Swift’s relationship with Kelce. While it is debatable as to whether Swift has ‘saved’ the NFL like Rapinoe said, it is beyond any doubt that the pop icon has taken the world’s biggest sports league to new heights.
