The 2023-24 season doesn’t seem to have ended for Jude Bellingham. With match-winning performances consistently, the 21-year-old proved himself as a clutch player by scoring important goals for Real Madrid and England. But with his mind-blowing overhead kick against Slovakia in Euro 2024 yesterday, the Englishman added to his high esteem in the United States. But more interestingly, the goal left one of the NFL’s best quarterbacks, Patrick Mahomes, flabbergasted, subsequently leading to an iconic exchange between the two.
The Kansas City Chiefs superstar appreciated the player by reposting the video of Bellingham’s goal on X (previously Twitter) with a one-word caption reading, “Crazy!!!!” Later, Bellingham acknowledged and thanked the compliment by replying to the post with “🫡.” Mahomes’ interest in soccer is not something new.
The football star follows the sport and also co-owns NWSL and MLS clubs, Kansas City Current and Sporting Kansas City. He was also seen cheering for his team in a few MLS games recently and displayed his familiarity with soccer by playing with YouTube streamer IShowSpeed.

On the other hand, this isn’t the first time Jude Bellingham captivated the NFL’s fraternity. The star was featured in the Champions League’s advertisement displayed at this year’s Super Bowl. Bellingham also showed his interest in the NFL through his Instagram story which was captioned “Super Bowl Sunday 😍” as he watched the event on TV earlier this year.

Jude Bellingham could be in trouble after saving England miraculously
In the context of its significance, the goal proved to be a savior for the English team, which was under constant scrutiny by the fans for its lackluster gameplay. Gareth Southgate’s team was on the brink of getting eliminated by the #45 team in the round of 16 when they conceded in the 25th minute.

They were trailing until Bellingham took the bicycle shot from Marc Guehi’s ball in the penultimate minute of the stoppage time in the second half. Subsequently, Harry Kane got his header perfectly on target in the first minute of extra time, sealing a victory for the Three Lions.
Nevertheless, England could be without Bellingham if he’s found guilty of violating “basic rules of decent conduct” after he made an obscene gesture while celebrating the goal. UEFA is investigating the action and details will be revealed later. England will face Switzerland in the quarterfinal on Saturday and will expect its talisman to be available.
