Cristiano Ronaldo had big ambitions when he joined his new club, Al Nassr. The Portuguese made a shocking switch to the Arabian side earlier this month, becoming the highest-paid player of all time.

The striker has been known to play for some of the best teams in the world and has outdone himself in scoring goals. From becoming the top scorer in the Champions League to achieving five goals in a match, he is truly a goal-scoring machine.

He must have come to Al Nassr with the same mindset and hoped he would give his fans the show he has always given. However, things are not happening the way Ronaldo wants.

Not a good start for Cristiano Ronaldo

It was a moment that all Al Nassr fans were waiting for, the debut of their star signing. Ronaldo had already made his debut twice, first against PSG, where the former Madrid man faced his European friends. Moreover, it was a nostalgic meet-up against all the efforts that went in vain as he lost in a nine-goal thriller.

That wasn’t his official debut, until earlier this week, he made his official league debut against Ettifaq. It was a major upset as fans were expecting goals galore from the former United man.

And now, recently, he endured a major upset after his new side lost a cup game against Al-Ittihad. The attacker was looking to win his first trophy, but his side lost 3-1 to the team that was third in the league.

It was unfortunate for Ronaldo, who was looking to win his first trophy. Nevertheless, losing is part of the game, and he’ll surely bounce back. However, despite the loss, there was another incident the five-time Ballon d’Or winner could be thinking about, as after the game, some fans in the stands started chanting Messi’s name.

Whether Ronaldo heard it or not, he did not comment on anything after the match. Of course, it was a nerve-racking moment for the Portuguese as Messi has been his most prominent rival for over a decade. It’s safe to say that he can be back and possibly win all the silverware in the future.
