In a surprising turn of events, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the legendary Swedish striker, has announced his return to AC Milan. This news comes just months after he retires from professional soccer at the age of 41. However, Ibrahimovic is not rejoining the Italian team as a player but rather takes up a role off the field.

Before his retirement, Ibrahimovic had already established two successful stints with AC Milan. The first stint lasted from 2010 to 2012, while the second term began in 2020 and ended in 2023. However, the dynamic striker decided to hang up his boots and now is exploring opportunities beyond the pitch as an advisor.

According to renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, Ibrahimovic has signed with AC Milan for the third time, but this time his role will be distinct. He will be working as an advisor to RedBird, the US private equity firm that owns the Italian giants AC Milan.

Despite his retirement, Ibrahimovic has maintained a keen interest in the team’s progress and has now taken on the responsibility of working closely with AC Milan’s management and ownership.

The former Barcelona striker will work with Gerry Cardinale, the founder of RedBird, to contribute to the club’s success in the coming months and years. The return of Ibrahimovic to AC Milan further solidifies his status as a club legend. Also, fans now finally have an answer to the cryptic message the 42-year-old gave last month.

Just last month, reports emerged of a meeting held between Gerry Cardinale and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. They had a meeting for two hours, leaving netizens confused as to why, considering his retirement months prior. Following the meeting, the former striker posted a cryptic tweet on X saying, “Tic tac tic tac.”

It added to the confusion and led to rumors of Zlatan Ibrahimovic coming out of retirement. Following a month, the answer was ultimately unveiled, and he resumed his position at AC Milan, albeit not as a player but as an advisor.
