Paris Saint-Germain has showcased some of the most legendary soccer players throughout the years. The likes of Lionel Messi, David Beckham, and Ronaldinho have graced the Parc des Princes and captivated fans with their presence. But in a surprising assertion, French soccer legend Frank Leboeuf contends that Zlatan Ibrahimovic has left a more profound impact and ‘made a difference’ compared to the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Neymar.
Neymar‘s snubbing is not too surprising, given that the Brazilian stint in the French capital was largely marred by injuries. Yet, the question stands as to why Kylian Mbappe has been dragged into this conversation. Leboeuf thinks it’s the personality that sets them apart.

In ESPN’s Extra Time show, Frank Leboeuf was asked a question by a netizen about who had a better impact on PSG in the last decade between Ibrahimovic, Neymar, and Mbappe. Interestingly, the pundit sided with the former 6’5” striker. “I love Zlatan Ibrahimovic and for the reason he came to Paris. His personality and impact on the dressing room, the club, and the press as well as his charisma, talks a lot about him,” he said. Interestingly, Leboeuf didn’t speak highly of Neymar. He added, “You have to erase Neymar. He had no impact whatsoever or maybe a bad one”.
While the French soccer veteran did commend the current generational talent, Kylian Mbappe, he still kept Zlatan Ibrahimovic above everyone else. “Mbappe, of course, choosing to go to Paris then after staying and not going to Real Madrid has made an impact as well. But in terms of personality, Zlatan, for me, made a difference,” he concluded. Indeed, this is quite an intriguing claim from Leboeuf, which would be music to Swede’s ears. But if we compare all three, which player stands out?

Speaking of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the Swedish international bagged 156 goals and 62 assists in over 180 appearances. Neymar, who arrived in 2017, made 173 appearances in six years and notched 118 goals and 77 assists. Meanwhile, Kylian Mbappe, who is still donning the Parisian jersey, has bagged 233 goals and 100 assists in 282 games.

While all three enjoyed domestic success, neither of them could lead the Paris Saint Germain to the UEFA Champions League title. However, it’s clear that Zlatan Ibrahimovic had a stunning impact in the fewest games. While the chance for Neymar to shine came to an end earlier this year, Kylian Mbappe, on the other hand, still has the chance of making PSG World Champions.
