It is, perhaps, better to be on a ship like Titanic than to be in Chelsea’s boat. From winning the Champions League in 2021 to moving 14th on the table, the team looks numb, to say the least. The Londoners have not lived up to their reputation, and are now at the receiving end of jokes from some fans and pundits. In a recent event, a star from the 1998 World Cup could not help but agree on the club’s lackluster goal-scoring.
The Blues have been at their lowest in many years, not playing any top European competitions this season. Is it Erling Haaland’s monumental approach or Chelsea’s lack of penetration that calls for a comparison between the two?

Chelsea has only managed to score five goals from their 6 Premier League outings, of which three came against Luton Town. In a recent conversation on ESPN’s Extra Time, former Chelsea player Frank LeBoeuf chose the Norwegian when asked who would score more goals between the two.
The host Dan Thomas, asked “Haaland or Chelsea, Frank?” to which LeBoeuf replied humorously saying, “Well, you have to bet on Haaland. You have more chance to win.”
The same question was initially to Craig Burley, who was also of the same opinion. Chelsea have not scored in their last three matches, which is likely why pundits were taking a dig at the team from London.
Apart from his jokes, the 1998 World Cup winner with France clarified, saying that Chelsea’s situation will change at some point in time.

LeBoeuf seemed to be a little concerned about his former team going into a relegation battle if they continue with this kind of flow. He said that there should be some hope coming from players who are recovering from injuries. He continued saying “At some point, they’re gonna react, otherwise if it is 6 points in 27 they are gonna get relegated. Something is gonna happen in between. Hopefully, Nkunku is gonna come back, or Reece James maybe or someone.”
With tough matches coming up for Chelsea, the Frenchman wants to believe in miracles. The coming nine fixtures for Chelsea include Manchester City and the three others from the big 6, except Liverpool.

LeBoeuf is not letting his hopes down on the 2021 Champions League winners. He feels Chelsea will eventually find their form and react to the current scenario. The former Chelsea defender is optimistic about the club fighting back and hopefully scoring more goals than Haaland. At least.
