It was an idea by Rob McElhenney to buy Wrexham AFC because he felt the community of the town is somewhat identical to that of Philadelphia. Ryan Reynolds soon jumped the ship, and they brought the club in 2021. Since the takeover, the owners have actively contributed to the club and the community.
Recently, the club’s forward hailed the owners as down to earth who is conveniently available for the players and those around the club. They have been contributing to local food banks and the surrounding areas in Wrexham. Reynolds’ recent message to the struggling U-12 has underlined the words of the forward.

The member of the U-12 futsal team of Wrexham, Keegan Barton, is going through hardships since the death of his father in September last year. Once Reynolds knew it, he sent a heartwarming message to the kid to encourage him and his family.
Reynolds, in his message, said, “I heard a little bit about your story and everything you’ve been going through, and let me tell you something, you’ve been going through the sh**, there’s no other way to say it. I just want to say I’m really inspired by you pal.”

“I’m super excited about everything that’s happening in Wrexham, and particularly with your team. You guys are doing amazing things over there, and I’m really inspired by it. I can’t wait to see you in the new uniform, and I can’t wait to meet you in person one of these days, Keegan. Sending you lots of love from New York.”
Keegan is the son of former FC Queens Park soccer player Adam Bradshaw who lost his life last year. His mother, Kayleigh, started a fund to raise money for the kit of her kid’s U-12 club. Deadpool star was one of the contributors to the fund, leaving everyone in awe.
