After a shocking exit from the 2023 World Cup, the USWNT has gathered to play a couple of friendly fixtures. The 2019 Champions will play both matches against South Africa on September 22 and 25 respectively. As the whole team is preparing for tomorrow’s clash at the TQL stadium, the USWNT shared some glimpses of today’s session on their Instagram account.
Aside from posting the snaps, they also wrote a caption saying, “One final training for @julieertz.” The post saw some hilarious and adorable team moments captured with the 31-year-old. Interestingly, one picture saw Ertz carrying Rapinoe in her arms. This specific photo was shared by the OL Reign star on her Instagram story.
She also wrote a caption saying, “Y’all gon miss us so much hope you’ll be okay but doubt it.” Indeed, it was quite a heartwarming message from Megan Rapinoe. Notably, she also taunted fans by insisting on having doubts that anyone would miss both of them. Nevertheless, it was quite an iconic picture of the two.
Sadly, this would also be the last time Ertz would be training with their beloved teammates. As for Rapinoe, she has a few more training sessions left, as the forward will officially call it a day after playing the second fixture against Africa.
