There have been rare incidents in soccer when games have been postponed. The games often get suspended because of unplayable conditions due to bad weather. It results in disappointment for the fans, especially those who buy tickets to watch the game in the stadium. One such incident happened in the Women’s Super League (WSL) game between Chelsea and Liverpool.

The game was due to take place in January. They postponed the game because of the frozen pitch. Meanwhile, Chelsea’s manager offered a unique perk for the fans in the stadium if they attend the game later. Now, the club has released a statement regarding the promise made by their manager in January for the rescheduled game.

Chelsea to fulfill the promise made by their manager

Chelsea’s women’s team is a force to reckon with. They are in an intriguing fight for the WSL title with the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City, and Arsenal. They are third in the table, nine points behind league leaders United, but have played three games less. WSL postponed one of their games in January because of the frozen pitch.

The game is due to take place this Wednesday. However, Chelsea’s manager, Emma Hayes, offered the fans a free hotdog for the rescheduled game. Hayes said, “I just feel gutted for you guys that have come out, and I promise you I’ll buy you all a hot dog if you come to the next game. Thank you for coming,” to the fans present for the game in January this year.

Now the club has released an official statement regarding the offer made by Hayes. The club statement reads, “We can confirm the offer made by Chelsea women’s manager Emma Hayes to buy free hot dogs for supporters at Wednesday evening’s rearranged fixture against Liverpool will be fulfilled.”

According to the club website, ticket holders arriving before kick-off can avail of the offer. They can claim one hot dog per person, and an option of a vegan hot dog will be available. It reminds fans of Leicester City, providing beers to the fans in 2016.

Who can forget the 2015-16 Premier League season? Leicester City won the league against all the odds. However, the Foxes treated their fans during that season with free beers. During a Premier League game between Leicester City and Southampton, the owner of Leicester City offered free beers to the fans in the stadium for his birthday.

It was a grand gesture from the owner for the support fans showed in the 2015-2016 season. Leicester went on to win the league title that season with a massive ten-point lead over Arsenal FC. Now, Chelsea shadowed the gesture made by Leicester City in 2016, although the reasons are different.
