Ryan Reynolds’ Wrexham AFC has taken a massive hit right before their League Two campaign. The team’s last game of the US tour against Manchester United saw Paul Mullin being pulled out of the game following a ruptured lung injury.

Paul Mullin went down in the first half of the game against United when he found himself in a collision with opposition goalkeeper Nathan Bishop. The collision saw Mullin sprawl on the pitch as he was helped out of the ground. Following the game, Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson talked with the press, where he informed that Mullin had suffered a punctured lung and will be out for a while.

With their star striker now out for an alleged six to eight weeks, Wrexham is in dire need of a new number nine who can provide the team with the much-needed attacking flourish. In their hunt for a new striker, it seems like Wrexham owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have knocked on the door of Paul Mullin’s former teammate and current Barnsley striker James Norwood.

Norwood, who was teammates with Paul Mullin during their youth years at Tranmere Rovers, is currently valued at $250,000. While the player is 32 years old, he could be a big addition to the squad considering his experience across the English leagues.

In 2021, a report was filed against Norwood, who was said to be driving with Mullin after a day at a bar in Suffolk. While the police tried to get Norwood to cooperate, the former Ipswich Town striker refused and was later fined £5,000 while being issued with a 40-month driving ban.
