Welcome To Wrexham gets 6 Emmy nominations!

Emmy Award is one of the most significant awards in the Television industry. And there’s good news for Wrexham supporters, as their beloved Welcome To Wrexham documentary has got recognition with six nominations. The docuseries that highlights the backstory of the takeover and the 2021-22 season has been a hit since its release.

The six nominations for the docuseries include:

  • Outstanding Unstructured Reality Program
  • Outstanding Cinematography for a Reality Program
  • Outstanding Directing for a Reality Program
  • Outstanding Picture Editing for an Unstructured Reality Program
  • Outstanding Sound Editing for a nonfiction or Reality Program
  • Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Reality Program

The owners received the nomination news with emotional messages. With season two on the cards, it recently won the Rockie Trophy for the best docuseries. Boardwalk Pictures and Maximum Efforts series is also in the line for National Television Award under the Factual Entertainment category.

The docuseries has been flying high since its release. And it took just the response over two episodes for the Hollywood duo to announce the second season. Meanwhile, the fans are excited to see the documentary getting recognition from the award shows.

Fans are on cloud nine after the Emmy nominations

The Reds fans have received the Emmy news ecstatically. They are over cloud nine after Reynolds and McElhenney shared the update. Reynolds captioned the update with, “Can’t wait for season 2.” And fans soon took over to share their excitement. One fan wrote, “Wrexham wrecking the Emmys.”  

A few fans feel it’s a well-deserving nomination and labeled it as a best sports docuseries. Fans also lauded the efforts of Reynolds and McElhenney they put behind creating the docuseries.
