Can Phil Parkinson's next signing elevate Wrexham to new heights, or is it just wishful thinking?

Wrexham AFC is getting into the groove gradually. The club started slowly, leading to this summer’s transfers, but it seems the third-oldest club in soccer is catching up with their goals for the season. With a few players slipping out of their hands, the club and the coach are approaching the matter with poise as they have already sealed two permanent signings, including defender Lewis Brunt. But to the fans’ excitement now, another major target is showing positive signs of joining Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s team.

Wrexham could be on its way to acquiring the first attacking signing in the form of Millwall player Tom Bradshaw. An X (previously Twitter) podcast page that covers Wrexham uncovered that Tom Bradshaw follows Reynolds and 3 other club players on Instagram. The players include Anthony Forde, Elliot Lee, and George Evans. The news started amusing the fans as they did not find a major reason why the Millwall striker should have followed them.

However, keeping aside Reynolds, the other three players are his old pals. Lee played alongside Bradshaw at Barnsley in the 2016-17 season, whereas Evans and Forde were his colleagues at Walsall during his spell from 2014 to 16. Nevertheless, that does not write off Wrexham’s keen interest in the forward who has over 120 League One matches under his belt.

Bradshaw, whose contract is till 2025 with the Lions, is expected to be sold as the club is seeking Macaulay Langstaff from Notts County. But Phil Parkinson’s team won’t have it easy, with reports suggesting interest from a few other clubs like Cardiff City. Bradshaw appeared in 198 games for Millwall, scoring 44 times with 12 assists, making him a useful campaigner. But Wrexham has got another player who can bolster their chances going forward.

Can Phil Parkinson's next signing elevate Wrexham to new heights, or is it just wishful thinking?

Have an interesting take?

After a few unsuccessful attempts at players like Josh Magennis, Wrexham has signed talented center-back Lewis Brunt. This is their second signing after Arthur Okonkwo from Arsenal. Brunt was mainly a part of Leicester’s under-21 setup and appeared for their senior team just four times. The 23-year-old has now arrived on a three-year deal for an unknown fee. Playing for Mansfield Town as a loanee last season, he played a key role in their promotion to League One and is expected to add value in more than one way for Wrexham.

In addition, the Red Dragons are reportedly interested in Millwall defender Wes Harding and Joe Morrell, who left Portsmouth as a free agent. Parkinson appears to be filling his squad gradually and with the kind of players coming in, interesting times are ahead for the fanatics.
