Is Wrexham's dream of promotion a reality, or just a Hollywood fantasy?

Ahead of the FA Cup round one game against Harrogate, the Wrexham football club received a big shout-out from Harrogate boss Simon Weaver. “We’re looking forward to it because there’s a lot of glamour attached to it, Weaver said. “They’re second in League One now and a strong outfit, but I just want us to focus more on what we can control.” Being owned by Hollywood biggies, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney add another layer of intrigue to the club as these two are on their way to slay in the league.

The Red Dragons are just one step away from the automotive promotion spot and are currently in third place on the league table. With that, Phil Parkinson has a lot on his shoulders to resolve the team’s ongoing midfield issues owing to Jack Marriott’s injury and Steven Fletcher’s lack of stellar form.

Given January’s transfer window, McElhenney and Reynolds somehow found a way to overcome these shortcomings. When the season started, they did not predict a chance for promotion but now that they’re fighting for the top-two contention, the duo is planning to expand their budget to add new players via transfers in January.

To fill the midfield and upfront gaps in the current team, fans can’t wait to see a few new faces ahead of the January transfer window. Although 13 games into the 2024/25 season are quite early to tell if Wrexham is going to win the league, the owners can’t miss a chance to grab the spotlight.

As of now, the Robins are averaging 1.92 points per game, and Phil Parkinson’s boys are aiming to complete the campaign with 88 points. If they move ahead at the same pace, they’re likely to be among the top two spots. To achieve this, each passing game is equally important for them, starting with the Sunday clash against Harrogate.

Coming out of a painful loss against Charlton Athletic last weekend, Phil Parkinson’s boys are ready to roll against Harrogate in their upcoming game. It’s going to be exciting for fans because these teams have faced each other twice in the last season. Do you remember these games from last year? In one of them, Wrexham threw away a 2-0 lead from home to draw 2-2, and in their last game, Harrogate secured a 0-0 draw at the Stok Cae Ras.

Now the intrigue level is equal for both Parisian and Harrogate boss Weaver. “The first half at Wrexham we were quite controlled and the performance at our place when we pulled it back to 2-2 was a good example of what we can do when we’re on it, “said Weaver ahead of the Sunday game.

Unfortunately, you won’t be able to watch this game live on TV and will need a streaming service such as ESPN and ESPN+. Besides that, this League clash will start around 3:30 p.m. at the exercise stadium in Harrogate, England, on Sunday, November 3rd. Apart from that, all eyes will be on Wrexham’s Andy Cannon, who’ll be in the midfield, and Ollie Palmer, along with Paul Mullin, leading the frontline given Jack Marriot and Steven Fletcher are recovering from injuries.
