As the new season approaches, teams around the world continue to make preparations for the preseason. Likewise, Wrexham is also gearing up for new beginnings, as they will kick off their League Two campaign. While the players are busy mastering new drills and tactics off the pitch, Ryan Reynolds is looking to bolster the squad. However, he received a massive transfer blow.
The Welsh side continues to be linked with numerous players. Subsequently, media personnel have linked former Manchester United star Nick Powell with a move to Wrexham. The Red Dragons vocally admitted an interest in him. But it seems that their target is set to give them a major upset.

It seems the transfer upset looks to continue for Reynolds, as the actor has already dealt with Gareth Bale’s failure. This time, Nick Powell has broken their hearts. Apparently, this comes after the former United man recently linked up with the Red Dragons’ League Two rivals, Stockport County.
As stated by the Football Insider, the forward is currently enjoying a pre-season camp with the Hatters ahead of a potential move. Earlier, Powell was seen training with his former childhood club, Crewe Alexandra. However, after leaving Stroke, Stockport seems to be his next destination. Recurring injuries over the past two seasons have severely hampered Powell’s performances.
Nevertheless, there is no doubt about his remarkable talent and game-changing abilities. Unfortunately, Reynolds may have missed out on him as he looks to join the Dragons’ rivals. Apparently, the Hollywood-backed club was looking to link Powell with their star player, Paul Mullin. But that seems to remain just a dream.
Perhaps it is a redirection, as it tells Reynolds to glance at other alternatives. As for the Red’s boss, Phil Parkinson, he looks to play the waiting game.

Phil Parkinson’s determination to make a significant impact on the team’s performance through a few strategic signings is evident. He acknowledges the current squad’s capabilities but understands that finding players who genuinely improve the team could prove a challenging task. Instead of rushing into decisions, the 55-year-old plans to take his time to identify and pursue the right players who can elevate Wrexham’s overall game.
He is committed to putting in the necessary effort and patience, even if it takes time to finalize the deals and bring in top talent. “We have targeted the ones we want and we are in discussions with those clubs,” he says. “If we feel they will really improve the squad, then, of course, we will go all out to get them”. Ultimately, Parkinson’s focus is on building a winning team, and he is willing to do whatever it takes to ensure Wrexham’s success.
