As a reward for their hard work, both owners have forked out $220,000 from their banks to share the sum with the players. This actually comes after the players turned down win bonuses during the season, in return for the huge payout. Reports suggest that the whole squad had backed themselves to gain promotion at the start of the season.
They also agreed to receive the win bonuses if they were in the top three throughout the campaign, in exchange for getting a bigger payout if they achieved promotion. The negotiations with Hollywood owners were done by the skipper, Ben Tozer. Hence, it seems the faith of his teammates has finally paid them off.
Indeed, it is a huge moment for both the club and the players, who have walked hand in hand throughout the season. Everyone has been rewarded for what they manifested the whole year. In fact, not only the players but also the club are in line to get a massive cheque.
Ryan Reynolds will also receive a big cheque
Aside from getting a trophy for their efforts, Reynolds and McElhenney will also receive a huge paycheck. Thanks to the promotion, the Red Dragons will receive $1.25 million as a reward. This gives the club a huge financial boost that will help foster the club’s development. Indeed, it’s a fruitful day for both the owners and the players.

However, the reward game doesn’t end here. Aside from sharing the big money pot, the players will also get a summer trip from the owners. Recently, the new signing Ben Foster revealed that celebrity owners have promised the squad a “monster” trip abroad if they achieve promotion.
“They’ve promised us a monster one at the end of the season. If we get promoted, they’re going to take us away somewhere with a lot of flashing lights,” Foster said. Now that the players have kept their word, the owners must also keep theirs.
