Just two months remaining until Wrexham AFC kicks off its fresh League One campaign. Yet, there are no signs of a single new arrival at STōK Cae Ras. While the hunt for the ideal first summer signing continues for the Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney-backed club, Red Dragons star Mark Howard has disclosed a significant ‘pull‘ that can attract more signings.

Of course, it has to do something with a reward—not financial, but even a better one—like another trip to Sin City. As compiled by the Leader, the goalkeeper said, “The owners did an unbelievable job of looking after the players again in Vegas.” Howard claims that no player takes the rewards lightly and is much appreciated, just like their efforts are recognized by the club.

“They took us to some of the best pool parties, nightclubs and some of the best restaurants I have ever eaten in. We don’t take our hospitality for granted. It was an incredible time. The club really do wine and dine you well, it does create a good team spirit and camaraderie with everyone,” continued the 38-year-old. Interestingly, Wrexham wasn’t the only club in Vegas, as Howard revealed that they encountered other teams as well, which of course makes the case for potential signings.

The goalie emphasized that such rewards given by Wrexham to its players for promotion certainly wouldn’t go ‘unnoticed‘ by other players who may consider a move. “It might be a pull for a player from a league above to say, ‘If I go there and be part of that I might end up being rewarded with a trip to Vegas,” concluded Howard. It looks like all the lads had quite a time in the US. In fact, special guests crashed their vacation!

Ryan Reynolds was ‘missed’ as Rob McElhenney joined the promotion party with Wrexham players

Mark Howard had quite a fun time with his teammates, but the delight doubled when Rob McElhenney and his wife, Kaitlin Olsen, joined them for a couple of days. While some might suggest the actors’ presence was merely a publicity stunt, Howard clarified that as owners, they want to ’embrace everything’ and always look to get involved.’

Ryan Reynolds, unfortunately, missed the trip as the Canadian-born actor was busy shooting the third sequel of Deadpool. “He was really missed,” said Howard. Nevertheless, it looks like the Hollywood owners are quite committed to the well-being of their squad. Any other player reading this would certainly be considering joining Wrexham now!
