Wrexham concluded their 2023-24 season on a high note by securing its second consecutive promotion. While glasses are still raised to toast their remarkable success, the celebrations are bittersweet for some, as the season conclusion marked the departure of several stars from the Welsh club. Aaron Hayden was among the players released by Ryan Reynolds and his team. Despite the club moving on to a fresh journey, Hayden grapples with the emotional struggle of bidding farewell to the Racecourse Ground.

Fearless In Devotion- WREXHAM AFC podcast on X shared the details. Hosted by the panel of Tim Edwards, Andy Gilpin, Liam Randall, and Rhys Williams, they received a message from the defender himself. It stated that Hayden had developed a strong affinity for the club and is finding it tough to process he’ll no longer pull on a Wrexham shirt again. However, the podcast’s social media team urged fans to stay vigilant, as the 27-year-old would be addressing his supporters to bid a proper farewell very soon.

It’s disheartening to witness Hayden struggling with emotional turmoil as he faces the harsh reality of his departure. Notably, he joined Wrexham from Carlisle United in 2021. Since then, he has amassed 86 appearances, the most among all the clubs he has played for in his career. With 20 goals and three assists, he emerged as a pivotal player in Phil Parkinson’s squad, playing a significant role in securing the National League title and subsequent promotion to League One.

He is one of eight players that Wrexham decided to release, including captain Luke Young, Ben Tozer, long-serving goalkeeper Rob Lainton, defender pair Jordan Tunnicliffe and Callum McFadzean, Owen Cushion, and Dan Davies. Perhaps the club needed these departures to sign a Premier League star.

Wrexham doesn’t rule out the signing of a Premier League record-breaker!

Wrexham’s executive director Humphrey Ker recently expressed his interest in bringing Jamie Vardy to the Racecourse ground. In an exclusive interview with Sports Bible, he said, There’s nothing to say that Jamie Vardy wouldn’t be a great Wrexham player. It’s not a name I’ve had mentioned inside the building before but, you know, age and profile wouldn’t put us off. We can already see the glitter in the eyes of Wrexham faithful, but can they sign him?

While the England superstar’s contract expires in the summer, there’s doubt whether Vardy, who just led his side back to the Premier League from the Championship, would leave Leicester City and drop two divisions to forge an attacking partnership with Paul Mullin. However, if the Foxes do not offer a new deal, he can accept Ryan Reynolds and Co.’s offer.

Likewise, should Wrexham secure this deal, fans should express their gratitude to Aaron Hayden and the other seven departures.
