Wrexham AFC‘s highly anticipated EFL League Two season is well underway. But unfortunately for the Welsh side, their star striker, Paul Mullin, is sidelined due to injury. However, it seems that Mullin has found an unconventional source of comfort in the form of his boss, Ryan Reynolds.

The Hollywood takeover of Wrexham by Reynolds and Rob McElhenney has injected new energy and excitement into the club, not only through improved performance on the pitch but also through the witty and humorous nature of Reynolds. Known for his quick wit and charismatic personality, Reynolds has seamlessly integrated his humor into the fabric of Wrexham Football Club.

Mullin’s absence from the team is a blow for Wrexham, as he is their main striker and a key player. The striker suffered a ruptured lung injury during a pre-season match against Manchester United, which will keep him out of action for six to eight weeks. Unlike his team, Mullin is currently in Los Angeles recovering.  Despite this, he is certainly not forgotten by his boss.

In a recent conversation between Reynolds and McElhenney leading up to Wrexham’s season opener against MK Dons, the eccentricity of the situation was revealed. McElhenney recounted his attempt to invite Mullin to stay at his house during his recovery period, only to be met with a refusal.

This sparked an amusing response from Reynolds, who claimed that Mullin had requested him to rub his foot. Reynolds cheekily remarked, “It’s weird because when I was looking after him, he would say to me every day, ‘Ryan, rub my golden foot.’ I would respond, ‘What? No, these ribs are the problem.'”

Mcelhenney knowing his colleague questioned, “You did it?” This got followed by the Deadpool star’s confirmation saying, “Of course, I did. It was a privilege”. While the veracity of Reynolds’ claim regarding Mullin’s peculiar request remains unknown, the mere thought of the Hollywood star rubbing his striker’s foot is both bizarre and amusing. Despite the humor brought by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, Wrexham’s match did not end as expected.

Although Wrexham managed to score three goals, their defense faltered. This allowed MK Dons to score five goals and ultimately win the match with a score of 5-3. This unexpected outcome is undeniably disappointing. Now, it remains to be seen how the team and owners will recover from this setback.
