Wrexham trailed Notts County in the title race with five games remaining. However, an incredible win over County, thanks to a 96th-minute penalty save from Foster, gave the advantage to the Red Dragons. Excited owners promised a lavish party in Las Vegas if the players won the title in the penultimate game. The players responded. They came back from a goal down to beat Boreham Wood and win the title, securing the promotion.

Owners fulfilled their promise by taking players to Las Vegas for the wild title and promotion celebrations.
