All is ‘not’ well with Wrexham AFC. The club fighting with all its might to secure promotion is constantly tested. Currently facing a series of challenges that seem to add up for the club including injuries to key players, particularly top scorer Elliot Lee. As these problems accumulate, the pressure on the team increases, especially on manager Phil Parkinson.

Elliot Lee, Wrexham’s star forward and joint top scorer, suffered a hamstring injury in a clash against Bristol Rover last month. There was a ray of sunshine when he made a comeback as a substitute against Wigan on Sunday. However, his injury seemed to flare up during the game, “It was a slight injury but it tightened up after the game so we have had to have that rescanned. It is not a long-term injury but he will be touch and go for the weekend.”  Phil said while confirming that Lee is expected to return in Wrexham’s clash this weekend against Peterborough.

Alongside Lee’s injury, Parkinson also provided updates on two other players who are currently recovering from injuries and illness. Lewis Brunt, the exceptional center-back who quickly made an impact on the team was confirmed as having a calf injury. While he did not go into specific details about the nature of their injuries, Brunt is not expected to return to the field in the immediate future. The second update was regarding Mo Faal. “Mo was sadly ill in the morning at the hotel,” said Parkinson.
