Recently, Wrexham’s rivals, Notts County, signed Derby County’s star, David McGoldrick. The 35-year-old striker has joined the League Two newcomers after seeing his contract come to an end. “We’re over the moon to welcome someone of David’s immense quality and experience,” read the club’s statement.
The Magpies also revealed that his decision wasn’t primarily on a financial basis but rather out of love for the club. McGoldrick had a decent season with Derby, who narrowly missed out on promotion. Overall, he made 45 appearances and scored 25 goals, while also having six assists for the Rams.

McGoldrick has played for many Championship clubs’ including the likes of Ipswich Town, Nottingham Forest, and Sheffield United. It is a homecoming for him as he began his soccer career at Notts. Either way, the new signing will be looking to make an instant impact at Meadow Lane. Moreover, he’ll also be looking to ignite his rivalry with Paul Mullin in League Two.
Be that as it may, Reynolds’ side must start reinforcing their squad. However, one thing they did well was announce Ben Foster’s contract extension.
