“I Consult My Wife Before Putting Pants On” – Ryan Reynolds Revealed Wife Blake Lively’s Obsession With $2.5 Million Team Back in 2022

Within just a few years of owning a soccer club, the fans consider Ryan Reynolds one of the notable soccer club owners. The Hollywood star has helped the Welsh soccer club scale up its operations to another level. The amount of global recognition that Wrexham AFC has garnered over the last year and a half is unimaginable.

It definitely does not seem like this was Reynolds’ first-ever business venture in soccer. Post this, he’s now been looking at other sports as well. In the last few months, news emerged about the Deadpool star wanting to take over an NHL club.

Apart from that, his wife, Blake Lively, has been very supportive of his crazy new business ventures, even the Wrexham AFC one.

Reynolds’ wife helped him see many blind spots!

In 2022, on the Jimmy Kimmel live show, Reynolds once revealed that he hadn’t told his wife about Wrexham AFC. The Deadpool star decided to sound his wife very late into the negotiations stage. On the same topic, Reynolds once told People, “I promise I consult my wife before putting pants on”. He then later revealed that she was impressed with his idea to eventually create a web series out of his initial soccer experience at the club.

The web series is ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ and has also won a few accolades to its name. On Good Morning America, the Deadpool star revealed, “First off, let’s back the truck up. I would not just buy a team and then tell my wife”. He jokingly continued, “I don’t make unilateral decisions on milk”.

He also then revealed that Lively helped him spot a few fixable issues at the soccer club. Reynolds continued, “So, no, we talked about it, she saw some of the things. The blind spots that I didn’t see, and I saw some of the other blind spots.” The Hollywood star still anyway went ahead with the deal and the rest is history.

The fans are more used to seeing Ryan Reynolds very often. The Deadpool star does not shy away from boasting about his love for the club. This season, the Welsh soccer club was on an unimaginable run in the FA Cup. Reynolds’ side went against the odds and put up a heroic display against Sheffield United in the fourth round. The third oldest professional club in the world almost beat the Blades in their first encounter, but it just wasn’t meant to be.

Even Blake Lively posted a heartwarming reaction while watching the game from the comfort of her home. However, after their tragic exit from the FA Cup, the fans rightfully reminded their Canadian owner that the Vanarama National League was their prime focus. Ryan Reynolds has revealed multiple times in the past that he wants to watch his club play in the English Premier League in a few years. The Welsh soccer side currently sits second on the points table, with two games still in hand as compared to league leaders, Notts County.
