Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have now become popular people in the soccer universe as well. With no prior knowledge of the sport, the Hollywood duo have become soccer superstars within a few years. Both of them purchased the Welsh soccer club back in 2020.
Wrexham AFC, which is also the third oldest soccer club in the world, has also gained relevance once again. With Reynolds, each season is better than the other. Unlike other soccer clubs, the co-owners have also maintained an open relationship with their fans.

Just yesterday, Rob McElhenney shared a humorous picture of himself and Reynolds with a funny caption.
Reynolds and McElhenney are already aging with Wrexham AFC!
It’s been a hell of a ride for Ryan Reynolds and his soccer club, especially this season. Wrexham AFC has seemingly become every soccer fan’s second favorite club, if not first. Even its co-owners are visibly having a ball of a time in the soccer universe. Reynolds has always been active on social media. He keeps interacting with the fans quite frequently. Whether it’s joking around or helping someone, the Deadpool star has always been around.

However, this time Rob McElhenney decided to have some fun with the fans. The Wrexham co-owner posted an unusual picture on Instagram, which also took a few fans by surprise. It was basically an ‘old age’ filter that the Hollywood duo used to click a picture. In the picture, they aged further by at least 30 years because of that funny filter. He also dropped a heartwarming message to the fans.
First half of the season was great! Really fwd to the end! Football is so fun! pic.twitter.com/JY0MoP4Mvl

He wrote, “First half of the season was great! Really fwd to the end! Football is so fun!”. The fans understood the sentiment behind the picture too. Soccer does take a toll on everyone, in a good and bad way, of course. But once you’re part of the soccer culture, it’s close to impossible to just leave. Such is the case with the Hollywood duo. Nonetheless, it is doubtful if they would ever want to leave too.
But this witty picture takes nothing away from Wrexham AFC’s breathtaking season.

Ryan Reynolds’ miraculous season with Wrexham AFC!
The Welsh soccer side’s previous season ended with a major heartbreak. They failed to get past Grimsby Town during the promotion playoffs. The Hollywood duo’s dream of promotion in the first season itself was immediately shattered. However, nobody from Wrexham AFC backed away. Reynolds’ club came back even stronger this season. His team went on an absolutely insane run in the English FA Cup.

Sheffield United eventually got the better of them in the replay leg. But the club’s fans then motivated their Canadian owner to get back up and focus on the Vanarama National league. The Welsh soccer side is currently in a battle with Notts County for automatic promotion to League Two. Soccer fans from across the world strongly believe that Wrexham AFC will finally get promoted this season.
